Dating relationship defined

A couple of months ago, I identified a real issue in regards to communication in relationships. As a dating coach, I talk with my clients a great deal about boundaries. We as a society, especially women, are not taught nearly enough about them. But I realized, both within the relationship I was in at the time, and with my clients, that getting them to let their partner know their boundary was one thing, but what the other person heard I've learned that the words we so commonly use are not universally defined. Relational and feeling words are nuanced, individualized narratives, all created by our childhoods and our experiences as maturing adults.

In a world where people meet in a myriad of places, it can sometimes become confusing whether or not people are dating or simply friends. People can spend time together doing various activities from going to dinner to taking hikes, and it can become confusing as to if it is a dating relationship or not. However, there are several ways to define what dating is and how to determine when people are dating. Over time, courts have come up with a legal definition of what dating is.

If you've been dating someone for some time, you may be deliberating over how to define the relationship DTR. You like that person, see them often, communicate with them, and have gotten to know who they are while you've dated them. The thing is, DTR-ing takes courage, and it's something you may want to plan out, at least a little bit. It's important to communicate your thoughts and feelings, so if you want to define the relationship into, well, a relationship, that's a conversation worth having. It's all too easy to date someone and think you're supposed to play this game where you both never share what you're feeling.
