Principal Shaved Head
When Jackson Johnston heard that his beloved grandpa Papa Rick was diagnosed with cancer he knew he needed to share his support. So Jackson shaved his head in support of his Papa. But when Jackson got to school he got a lot of harsh words and bullying for his shaved head. Thankfully, his principal Tim Hadley knew this was a time to teach kids about understanding and love. What a beautiful lesson and show of solidarity.

Alliance City Schools staff, students shave heads for St. Baldrick's
The student had shaved his head for his grandpa battling cancer. The child -- Jackson Johnston, a sixth-grade student at the school -- had shaved his head this past weekend as a show of solidarity and support for his grandfather who has been battling cancer. The year-old knew that his "Papa" had been feeling a bit down since his hair "started getting thin and patchy from chemotherapy treatments," according to Jackson's mother, Amber Johnston.

Knowing the grandpa he calls Papa Rick was starting to lose his hair from chemotherapy treatments, the sixth-grader shaved his head in solidarity. When Principal Tim Hadley learned of the trouble, he considered disciplining the offenders. Instead, he chose to reach a wider audience with a lesson on empathy. On Tuesday, Jan. And then Jackson got to work.
