Losing Virginity Later Linked to Sexual Problems

How To Lose Your Virginity Without Pain (Girls) - Short Introduction - Wattpad
For better or worse, not everyone's first time having sex is like something out of a '90s teen rom-com. Whether you lost your virginity in a car, in the basement while your parents were upstairs, or on the night of your wedding, your own experience is probably personal and special to you in some way, regardless of how good or bad it was. Although the concept of "virginity" is outdated in a lot of ways, that doesn't mean your first time having sex isn't an important and life-changing moment for many women and men. Recently, HerCampus took a survey of 3, female college students about losing their virginity , which uncovered a lot of surprising facts about what it's really like to have sex for the first time as a young woman.

What Is It Like to Lose Your Virginity?
Can you have sex immediately after your hymen breaks or ruptures, or should you wait a while because of the pain? Whether you should have sex soon after or a while later depends on the thickness of the hymen, the type of the wound and the time it might take to heal. All three factors will help you decide when you should have penetrative intercourse again. Medical College, Mumbai.

Those who enter the sexual ring later may be at more risk of sexual dysfunction. Those who lose their virginity at a later age -- around 21 to 23 years of age -- tend to be more likely to experience sexual dysfunction problems later, say researchers at Columbia University and the New York State Psychiatric Institute's HIV Center for Clinical and Behavioral Studies. Men who lose their virginity in their 20s, in particular, seemed to be more likely to experience sexual problems that include difficulty becoming sexually aroused and reaching orgasm. The increase in sexual problems was also seen in those who had a comparably earlier sexual debut. And the researchers were quick to point out that there isn't enough evidence to say for sure whether waiting to have sex necessarily leads to sexual dysfunction down the road.
